Taiwan: Tariff war impact

Given the uncertainty surrounding Taiwan companies operating in China producing immediate goods either for local consumption or sold on to the US, we are proposing a three-day tour to further understand the potential implications. Taiwan's largest companies have spent the past two decades building factories in China, but now stuck in the middle of a trade war it is time to consider alternative options with some considering relocating back to Taiwan or shifting production to neighbouring countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia and even India.

The Taiwanese government has implemented various mechanisms and incentives to assist such companies in moving production back to Taiwan as well as laying the groundwork for portfolio diversification in the region through the Govt's New Southbound Policy. The aim is to expand economic ties with countries within the region to encourage companies to explore such opportunities.
